With her family there to celebrate, Brianna Davis graduated from FIDM over the weekend with a degree in Merchandise Product Development.
She's a legacy story! Her father, Henry Davis (pictured to the right of Brianna in the back row in photo above), graduated from FIDM in 1978 with a degree in Fashion Design. But, he credits his mother, Alberta Nibley (in white suit above), for inspiring Brianna to come to FIDM. "She started and founded Alberta's of California many years ago and she sent me to FIDM."
Alberta Nibley shares, "Brianna comes from a long line of seamstresses and custom tailors. My mother made a living of it all her life right up until she passed at 91 years of age. Brianna picked it up and enjoys it. She's going to be really good at it. I'm very proud of her."
Brianna came to FIDM straight after she graduated from Maricopa High School in May 2008. Since then it's been lots of late nights, dedication and perseverance. Her mother, Sheila Davis, said Brianna sometimes stayed up all night working on a project. "She worked very hard to get to this day. She's very creative and I knew she'd get through it. And she did. I'm so proud of her."

Brianna says, "FIDM brings out all your creativity. They're terrific at that!" She also said she made a lot of friends she will keep for a long time.
Brianna is going to move back to Arizona for the summer to spend time with her family, then she plans to come back to Los Angeles to look for a job in merchandising. She intends to utilize the services at the FIDM Career Center, too. "I'm definitely going to take advantage of that. I'm so glad they will be there to help me."
